Christmas Travel
My time back in Michigan visiting my parents was very good and we zoomed with my other siblings on Christmas Eve. I enjoyed seeing some friends too! A Christmas Eve bonfire in the parking lot with my home church La Casa de Mi Padre and our friends from Real Life Fellowship church was beautiful.Back in Kona
- I have started organizing a garden plot where I hope to apply what I have been learning on the campus natural farm and grow some of my own veggies/fruit; if I'm successful I'll share some of what I grow with friends and I hope to teach/invite others to garden with me!
- I helped the campus medical staff on January 12th with testing of students who had arrived on the 7th; as a precaution the campus mandated a quarantine for 5 days and a third COVID tests for all incoming students.
- The Foundations of Biblical Counseling (FBC) course has begun! I'm getting to know the 11 other students and 7 staff; last week we received an overview of what we will learn in depth in the coming months and each shared 10-15 testimonies. This week we started by learning about how culture is important to consider in a counseling setting, Tues-Thursday we are learning an overview of basic counseling skills and practicing them with each other.; also doing group discussions about what we are reading in the assigned books.
Books for the FBC course:
This teaches a great prayer journaling tool called Immanuel Journaling First time reading the book for me but I've used the journalling tool lots! |
- Continued open heart and mind to receive all the Lord wants to teach me during the training phase of FBC and open eyes to see how He wants me to begin applying it to serve others!
- My travels from Kona to Michigan to California and back to Kona were great (negative COVID tests, no problems with my ears, good sleep after time zone changes...these last two are miraculous I think!)
- Already having opportunity to grow and clearly seeing things God wants to work on in me and the course has just begun; also very clear opportunities to apply/practice what God has been teaching me these past couple years.
